FLEURS DE BAGNE – FROM OUTLAW TO POPULAR
You’ve heard a LOT about workwear, slowear, sportswear… but have you already heard about Jailwear ? At the last Selvedge Run trade-fair in Berlin, we met with Mika, the owner and designer of Fleurs de Bagne, and now that we bump into him every once in a while, we think it’s the right moment to speak out, and tell you how much we like what he does !
Fleurs de Bagne (understand « prison’s flowers » referring to the tattoos, blooming on prisoners’ skin) is a French brand, 100% made in France, which draws its inspiration from authentic thugs and vintage prison archives.
From bad sailors to legionnaires, from typical rough french motos to tattoo symbols, there’s a lot to say about this « community ».
From bottoms to overshirts, T-shirts to sweaters, Fleurs de Bagne goes further by analyzing and re-interpreting vintage garments, using real army tent cloth as fabrics, true military equipment tins buttons, nice screenprints or cornely embroideries, while respecting workwear and army specific designs.
Big thumbs up for this small but great brand from Aix-en-Provence, that really diserves to go big ! You can have a look on their website, but beware, clicking on this link can lead to an impulse buy…
… But we only live once right ? Plus the prices are affordable compared to the quality of the garments and the extremely cool design. More info here
